This is my Final Piece from my Degree show 'Hidden Depths' 2005
over 8ft high, digital, and screen printed velvet devore
"Like Pre-Raphaelite paintings the dress is beautiful and appears superficial but beneath the surface when you look deeper the significant meaning emerges. It is elongated and towers above the viewer giving and eerie godly presence which is quite surreal.
Darkness and light created by the devore symbolizes both sides of the 'Feminine Ideal'. The velvet devore gives actual depth to my work eating away at the surface to reveal the underlying meaning."
